Takes about 2 minutes to make each profile and upload to PS which is automatic. So for example if you come back from a vacation with 10, pictures taken under sunlight, one click and you've got perfect color across the board. It's just another tool, but it's very useful.

Colorblind people like them too because they can trust it. The problem I have is arguably the most important features for photographer workflow are omitted batch, plugins, profiles, etc. DualSystemGuy wrote: "The other major issue with iPad editing is poor screens - there is no way to hardware calibrate the screen as it does not have a LUT.

You are an ignorant moron. Apple's iOS is, unlike most versions of Android, a fully color-managed, color profile-aware operating system that can use LUTs if it needs to. It thus makes sense, especially for color-critical apps like Photoshop, to target iOS and iPad Pros instead of Android as a tablet platform. Instead of insulting me like a 5 year old and calling me an "ignorant moron" why not act your age and tell me how I can hardware calibrate my iPad if you are saying it is possible?

If screens could be made to be flawlessly calibrated at all times for their entire service life, do you not think we would have that technology in monitors? My NEC is calibrated at the factory, and still needs a re-calibrate every 2 weeks to maintain accuracy.

No screen is automatically accurate with just a factory calibration in all scenarios - so please tell me how to hardware calibrate my iPad screen with a LUT if it is possible. I think what you're missing is a screen's ability to display a certain range of colors is not the same as being accurate. Desktop displays are mains-connected, and electrical power availability is thus not a problem. Desktop display manufacturers can thus use LEDs that are cheaper, and comparatively less power-efficient — i.

Portable devices like phones and tablets at the upper end of the market tend to use more expensive display technologies than desktop displays — e. The LEDs used for mobile, power-restricted displays tend to be more efficient, and use direct color emission by tuning the semiconductor bandgap, instead of using the less power-efficient, and wear-prone wavelength conversion process relying e.

High-end mobile display LED backlights thus emit less heat, and have a better longevity — i. An easy way to check the stability of a display's color stability over time is to set it to a known, constant brightness level, display a neutral gray picture filling the screen, put it in a completely darkened room and take a picture of it at, say, a one-month interval using a digital camera. If the R, G and B channel color balance of the raw file has changed more than, say 1.

Note that the JNCD should be computed after equalizing the brightness, so that only color hue changes affect the result.

If the R, G and B channels have equal brightness degradation, the color spectrum hasn't changed, and recalibration isn't really needed. A practical way to measure the JNCD would be to convert the raw file using a raw file developer of your choice — e. Accurate for what purpose? The great irony of your commentary is that most images today are viewed on things like iPads and iPhones, and the like, so if the images look good on either then they will likely look good on other mobile devices.

As for prints, I look at photos all the time on my iPad mini 4, and they look far better than any prints I've ever seen. Phil - I print many of my images both professionally and for personal use. Accuracy is very important to me and my clients.

Prints match my NEC flawlessly, and can look very noticeably off on the iPad. How is wanting prints to match what I see on a screen ironic? There is no way to get my iPad to match a print that I am aware of because I cannot control the iPad's calibration. Also the "true tone" feature is useless. I can control a print. Fine for prints but the person editing on an iPad would obviously have a much better chance of matching the typical view devices of today.

Funny how that works, and without any extra effort and hardware. So we should allow our images to have inaccurate color, because other people's displays are sometimes inaccurate? For me that does not help, especially for my work. I'd much rather have images with accurate color to begin with, regardless of how they are viewed. And like I said - a lot of my work ends up in print. No, I'm simply stating the reality and irony of your attempt to have accurate color images.

I understand that for you that does not work; I acknowledged that. That said, and for most people, there is no denying the ultility of editing your images on something like an iPad Pro. Phil, I still don't understand how wanting my display to match my prints is "ironic". You keep using that word but for as long as I've been in the photography business, people have gone to great lengths to make their displays match the prints. There is no irony in that, it's a very straightforward situation.

That is my usage - maybe it isn't for the next guy, but that is an entirely different conversation. Many of my images do not stay in the digital realm. At any rate, in recent interviews with Adobe I see they have changed their language away from "fully featured" so it seems I am not the only one to point out that it's far from it.

Printing uses D50 as the standard white point, and you've probably specified in your calibration software to calibrate the NEC for "print matching". The fact that the iPad, which has a display with a white point closely matching D65, will accurately reproduce the actual colors intended in sRGB and AdobeRGB — and not make them yellower — doesn't make the iPad display "poor".

Due to the lack of print drivers, I don't know if it even makes sense to use a tablet as a prepress workstation, but application software — e. Photoshop — could, in principle, offer a "soft-proofing" option, to simulate what a D65 picture would look like with a D50 illuminant. I'm more interested in using Adobe CC in a touchscreen iMac or macbook rather than iPad no matter how advance the technology is.

Never mind. Won't be as good as Affinity Photos then, which was designed ground up for iOS and is available now, much cheaper I assume. I understand only too well. This, from above In other words piecemeal, with bits tacked on over the years to make it the behemoth it is now. It would be a mark of a bad developer to rewrite such code from the ground up. Affinity Photo was written as a whole from the ground up not REwritten.

It would therefore have been comparatively simple to adapt for iPad. Obviously, not an overnight job, but far easier than for Photoshop. Besides the interface and integration to the iOS environment all the algorithmic image processing tools can be directly carried over without any degradation in quality. A good software engineer will attempt to reuse as much code as possible, why would the adobe engineers reimplement content aware fill for example?

I really don't like editing images on a glossy screen. Gives me the impression that the image is brighter and more vidid than it actually is.

Maybe a matter of getting used to it, i don't know. But I could never switch between a glossy unit and my matte calibrated NEC screen on a regular basis. That's for sure. I think the comment section here illustrates nicely, that Android-tablet market is truly dead.

No one is complaining that Adobe releases Photoshop only to iOS. And all this android tabs are dead is coming boring. So many user around the globe will prove you wrong. I can tell you from 1st hand, that ios platform is worse to use from start, even with that "ios twaekad apps" bs. Ipad, Ipad pro, i pad mini etc. In android It may not run on every android tablet and the minimum requirements would be a hassle to deal with all the fragmentation of manufacturers and customizations. IOS is much cleaner.

Android is worse especially on tablets , Android-compatible hardware is much slower then iOS compatible hardware, and finally its conspiracy nonsense with being exclusivity of apps. The only reason so many apps are exclusive to iOS is that iOS apps are making lots of money compared to Android apps.

And don't get me started about that ios is only making money bs, too. Those developers, they don't' sleep on exclusive agreements with apple, arw making nice money from both platforms, without charging 3x more in ios.

So you tell me that a universal PS tablet version can come out and every android user who has a tablet can use it with no issues? You are not making sense. SO don't confine your answers to new TABS are coming out , not everyone buys samsung or the high end tablets. With iOS you are gauranteed a much better experience.

Oh and just to let you know , i use both android and ios and have both ipads and samsung tablets and i know where i prefer top use the PS mobile app on. What do you mean "Android is much more open system". I mean obviously its "worse" in terms of restricting the apps, to the point where there is literally hundreds of malware distributed through Google Play Store but almost none similar incidents, and never so prolonged, in AppStore.

Also hardware on best Android Tablest is just like 2 or three years behind newest iPads. Try that with top of the line Android tablet. I agree. Not that the cloud maybe useful I go to places where the internet is not available or restricted. I doubt that Adobe has added keyboard support. Why doesn't it make sense? Also i think it's mostly "development free" to add the support, since the app already support a keyboard and also the iOS. And there a lot of cases-with-keyboard for ipads apple's included so the feature is worthy.

Maybe they will add customized shortcut buttons that you can configure like CMD Z etc etc The astro pad has that and i think it might be the same. Add bluetooth a keyboard, use the stylus on the screen for menus and work. The business model continues to want to lock people into the subscription plan.

What happens when you decide to quit? What about those files you have in adobe cloud, especially now that you have a new cloud psd format? The fact that I can take my work from the desktop to the cloud to my iPad Pro is an extremely compelling reason to use it. Besides, it comes with my existing subscription. Never understood why photographer does simply use a Surface or similar to do their photo editing..

I am using Capture One Pro. With my Surface Pro 4, I have 12,3 inch screen to work with, pen is great to replace mouse on the couch and you can make the masks easily. It is a such better setup and easier to work with than trying to have a convoluted multi devices setup with synchronization on the cloud and all associated issues. That is a solution looking for a problem. Honestly, I feel pity when I see photographer trying to use an iPad for photo or video editing when they are great Windows tablets that allow you to do all that much better.

The document-centric as opposed to platform-centric approach where your work is in the cloud works best for many of us professionals. A question would arise though: do you trust the color accuracy of a cheap tablet screen more than that of a high quality desktop screen? This apps aren't for cheap tabs, since probably aren't powerful enough.

Better ones specially ipads pro etc have calibrated screens from factory at least what they brag about and if that's not enough, you still have option for tab calibration too check x-rite, spyders etc. Tab it's not true photo station, for sure, but it you're on the go and have to make same quick adjustments etc, i guess it will do. I use affinity anyway, so i dont' mess with this adobe cloud money pit thing anymore, but still.

I have the same problem like him in my ubuntu Message The program installs without a problem, but when I open it this is what I get, the interesting thing is that when I try to draw on newly created file, I can see that it draw thing in layers section, but nothing is displayed on the artboard. For me turning off "Graphic processor" fixed the problem.

In fact I think that this fix does not work at all. Do you know if Adobe AIr is really needed? If so, we need to find a new source to install it. Message This worked pretty well for me. All the apps installed and run with the exception of two 64bit applications. Wine 1. Wine 3. At least at the time I wrote the script it did. That is not a sin to do that, BTW. I've written quite a few scripts and functions and sometimes it's required to automate the process. I see what you are saying.

It's setting the same one twice. I will test that later. It originally declared win7 then xp or vice versa , and it got changed along the way. My bad.

You will need to wipe the virtual drive for previous installs before trying again. I am on ubuntu Had to change wine version to 3. But now it works fine. Please tell me how to fixed it. Message Hello, thank you for the program. Please read the wiki. It will show you how to post the information we need to fix things like this. Without the proper information, I would just be guessing. Message But.. It jumps around because it needs to set other things up as XP. I will change that real quick.

Please Help me - my Linux Version is Ubuntu Message Hey together, i have a little problem, Photoshop starts perfect after i install de POL vcrun6 but if i want to open a new image or if i load an image i get this Screen,,,, anybody an idea what can i do? I have no clue. I can't replicate the issue. Post your debug logs and lets see if that shows anything. I had this problem myself and managed to fix it. I have a GTX myself, what do you use? I hope this gets a better fix because Photoshop is a lot more laggy when not using my GPU.

Message Successfully installed CS6 version. This fixed it for me. Message Hy, i got this error when i am tring to install it. Any clue? You need to start a thread in the forums with your computer specs and debug log. Without any information about your system or logs, we could only guess. How can't a fix? Probably a problem with Wine itself. Check winehq. I am working from my phone at the moment and can't look into the issue at this time. It may actually be because of a hockey associated with the ALT key, but I can't test it right now to be sure.

Retro Gamer. With 1st I'm not familiar So far, worked every time. This issue also seems "normal" :. Installed and tested on Linux Mint Confirmed on Ubuntu This is good news. Wine staging will be the default distribution in POLv5. We should try to avoid patches as we can now. Sounds good to me. I will also try to go back and update any older scripts that I can with -staging releases.

I know for a fact I cannot do it with Reason 5 it is a one-off patch, specifically for that program , but I should be able to update the others, as long as the -staging WineBuild works.

I opened a ticket to do this and assign it to myself. I was going to test it tomorrow. I have been uber busy lately. This was only tested with PS CS6. Not the whole suite. Illustrator may work.

Let us know if it does, and I will whip up a script for Illustrator. Tested with Illustrator, it installs but does not run, Error 16, some problem with permissions according to Adobe forums. Only if it works through Linux. Message its very usefull software. Updating to new WineBuild. Changing order of Windows version call. I'm experiencing some issues related to fonts. How can I send screenshots showing problems? Please post in the forums with your full computer specs and debug log and we can take a look at it.

Thanks Rodin. Adding better note before PS install actually starts. Adding revised Tahoma installer to help fix missing font issue on certain machines. Ok ok ok.

The missing fonts from certain systems should now not be a problem. No virtual desktop needed. The fix is ready to go. Way more portable than ultra thins and pen is so much better with a superior feel and virtually no parallax!

This could be just the ticket for me when I'm between jobs during the day with, say, half an hour to kill. I also don't use a Wacom because I don't normally need to do that level of isolation work, but when I do I could use the iPad with the stylus for that.

I look forward to hearing when in this is coming, as there's a lot of time between January and December. Running LR on a Windows tablet Do you even own the right to viewing your own images anymore?

Why are people so hyped about having PS on a tablet? So you can edit your crapy shots on a toilette? Personally I have no idea about the advantages and disadvantages of using PS on a tablet though. Thought tablets did lack memory, disk and speed, but I might be wrong.

I use my iPad every day, but only fire up the laptop once a week when I have to. Seems that some Apple users having lived under a rock for many years. You definitely can have a Windows tablet running LR or Photoshop or any editing software you want. This is for me the greatest appeal and I can not understand people trying to use an iPad for that save money? Again, it is about having options.

News flash - you are not the center of the universe. For a set of people this works. You haven't even tried it. Current iPads are pretty fast. If all you can do is resort to attempts at personal attacks, then there's really not much to discuss.

Great that someone finally understands that the article was about PS coming natively to iPad. That must have been hard to figure out. The point is that even with full functionalities which clearly it will lack , the iPad just does not make for a possible great experience. It is not a matter of preferring the iPad as a tablet but for photography purpose. The only thing you have on the iPad are things like Affinity or other super limited app Affinity Photo super limited?

I love editing on my And the Surface Pro in laptop mode is still worse than a regular laptop. This is good news and a logical step. Tablets are repacking desktop and laptop computers for a lot of things. I'm not there yet, when it comes to getting work done. I have found that there is no substitute yet for a good keyboard and mouse or trackpad. A good keyboard, decent monitor, expandable internal storage, card slots, and surround speakers.

Not to mention a machine built from components that are upgradeable, expandable, replaceable, and that come with a decent warranty. Agree for the keyboard.. I prefer editing my photo with my Surface in tablet mode than docked.

You can use a pen with any PC or Mac desktop if you wish. Most people don't have touchscreen monitors on the desktop but it's super-easy to plug in a graphic tablet. Bob, how is the responsiveness of those tablet? Do they feel sluggish or precise? Any recommendations on a model? I can't compare it to an iPad-like tablet, but there's no sluggishness or blips that I can detect.

I'm using a Huion , the previous version in which the pen has to be charged. Honest, it's larger than I would like for photo editing but I had a fantasy about using it for digital drawing and art, lol. Who knows, maybe I will some day. It will be nice to have a native app now to do things with the CC cloud integration. However that said, I almost would prefer Adobe Illustrator as an iPad app first as I do most my adjustments in Lightroom and use Photoshop secondary to do layering and other things.

In that case, I spend more time swapping between Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. So from my standpoint, Photoshop is more utilized later in my workflow on specific projects.

No, thanks Adobe! I already have a better alternative: Affinity Photo! No Cloud, no subscription, no Adobe! I think they are late by more than a year. I already went for Affinity and spent some time in learning it. I loved LR but they went to CC plan which made it a tough choice. My impression from The Verge was that perhaps this will only be offered in a CC plan. May not be included in the Photo plan, but hopefully so. That said, I already have a couple of apps I love on iPad.

I can see some definite benefits to this but editing on a small screen and iCloud feels confining to me. I may change my mind using it. I have an ageing iPad Air 2, on which I do quite a bit of photo editing. This has me tempted to buy an iPad Pro. Elon: I recently got a iPad. I love it so much I wish I had gotten at least the Maybe in a few months if I keep liking my little cheap one! I have original iPad Pro and it's an amazing beast, still.

It works fast. I love being able to read and take notes and draw and all that on iPad Pro. I am definitely setting my budget ready for the new iPad Pro expected to be released this month or next month. I don't like Adobe any more, as they have turned their products into a subscription model. I needed to create a PDF form fillable , but there is no way to buy the product outright.

It is the same for Photoshop. In the past, I could buy the product outright Not so great for in-frequent users and then the only option is cut-down version of the product. I used to think similarly to you. But it is just my allergy to perpetual subscriptions. That said I took the plung after some logical thinking. If you are like many here you will upgrade your camera too or perhaps buy new lenses. So if you were to upgrade PS and LR every 5 years or so Do I like a perpetual license?

And I will leave adobe if they even force us to only have our library in the cloud. But like it is now Subscriptions cost more money in the end because it's a constant flow of money out of your account. There is a reason why Adobe is going that route because it makes them more money. I'm not saying it's bad but thats just the facts. I was waiting out and hoping that AP would come out with a DAM and a means to have a library and perhaps sync across decives.

So basically Adobe is the only option for my current workflow. I am hoping that in a couple of years things have changed and I will leave adobe. But till then, it is a calculated decision. In the end, a constant flow of a small amount is a lot less than an infrequent fllow of a large amount. If you never upgrade, a subscription product is not for you. What they should do for infrequent users is charge per file edited. To give a better idea of options.

If you have sony or fuji C1 can be even more beneficial as I found it does better with handling the colors of those brands right out of the box. However, if you are someone who tends to by a new camera every years than you will have to accept that they are slower in implementing camera and lens profiles.

For example someone on here was complaining that LR didn't have the R supported when the camera started shipping LR support for it was rolled out a week later. C1 still doesn't support it Same goes for lens profiles Perhaps it would be easier to simply estimate what the typical time spent on the software for editing is for moderate users. Estimate the time spend editing a picture, and this the average cost per picture for editing, and just charge people that How fun. By the time they get there and back, you could have driven 50 miles to your real computer and edited the whole shoot.

For example when you are on vacation. I do some editing on trips to share. More than shots though and you are right syncing becomes and issue. It will depend if PS can also work on smart previews. If not then meh, the work flow will become combersome. For graphics designers to have access to the pencil and iPad though I'd agree with lawny This is probably helpful while on the move and editing photos to share. II wouldn't use this solution to edit a large batch of images, but it could definitely be useful while traveling.

I could definitely see this as a very attractive travel solution for limited editing a few dozen, not a few hundred photos for sharing on social media etc. I think I would be more inclined to take a 12" iPad Pro over my15" Alienware laptop which I take now just for the weight savings. However one can use any stand alone app and later send images to cloud though.

Batch editing is definitely not the ipads forte. However, if I shoot images rather than keep them on the card or selectively transfer images I would just transfer the whole batch to the iPad. Then follow the usual ratings process, and edit the select few images I want to share. All of them get synced to the cloud, which can take time but who cares?? It is a nice way to have my images backed up.

I can reformat my card and continue about my vacation worry free. Upon returning home, I start up myself and LR and just leave it and go about my day. With the 20 GB of space on the cloud it is more than adaquate. When I get to about 10 GB I make sure my backup is updated and then I simply unsync the images from the cloud.

I have noticed that in this way I spend way less time behind a computer. I just do most of the basic edits on my tablet spontaneously and whenever I fancy. I would never use my iPad as a main editing device. Routine editing of tweaking exposures, contrast, vibrance, correcting shadows, noise, sharpness etc doesn't take much time and ipad Screen is pretty good for such exercise.

You know, it would be pretty simple to let users move the bulk of their data using physical media, and combine that with cloud synchronization. The files are automatically imported to the hard drive by Lightroom. They are also uploaded into the cloud. Perhaps there are settings to control what files are uploaded first, and which to always keep local copies of. The photos are again imported. Easy enough to move files around via portable HD, but all that still doesn't alter the fact that moving 4 TB in my case of photos to the cloud via a Satellite Internet connections simply isn't feasible.

It would take weeks on most DSL connections, so if you don't have Fios, don't bother. This whole phone-centric cloud thing still smells like the cell phone companies plan to sell more bits.

It would be interesting to know if the development was subsidized. They could ship it to you with a return label. I figured out you can upload via your iPad and then once synced on your Mac or PC remove the items from the cloud without losing your edits. Once a smart preview of those images are made can reupload them to the cloud their smart previews. For more than that I for one am not paying no 1k year to adobe. They really should offer a "cold storage" option, whereby the cloud is primarily used as a low-availability backup mechanism for the actual RAW data, and to synchronize the non-destructive editing instructions small bits of text.

As storage gets cheaper I can upgrade capacity If I wanted to move 1TB of images from the cloud, that would take many many hours. The point of a surface pro is you are not confined to apps or scaled down software. If you wan't in on a PC get the PC version. Maybe there's some non-adobe software that is? Photoshop is a leading edge app, not something to be squeezed into out of date computers. Easily make social graphics, flyers, logos, and more from thousands of free templates.

Please follow the steps below to download and properly replace you file:. One of our users is trying to upgrade his After Effects cc from to version. Is this not compatible with the newest Win 10 feature update or is there something I am missing? At my work place we have a campus license for Adobe CC, the problem is that we are on a mac editshare solution and in the current setup we cant cross networks. This then causes issues with adobe every now and again because it cant connect to the adobe network to keep the license activated.

On ne peut plus lancer ces applications. Malheureusement, cela ne fonctionne pas. If the maximum number is fixed, how many is it possible? We have device licenses for our school district. I see Adobe released a new version of their software.

I also see here: Packaging apps via the Admin Console that I cannot create a device license in the admin console. Is this something that is going to be fixed, and if so will it be fixed quickly? We have to pay an annual subscription for Adobe CC, as it is the only license one can now get. The promise when going to a subscription model was rolling updates. Without a fix to the device license model, there will be no more updates for us, which will leave us on the last and buggy release.

We cannot do named user for obvious reasons. One being it would be exceptionally expensive and difficult to manage, the other is, being a school, we have users that would difficult to create individual licenses for under Adobe's own ToS. Uninstallation of Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop is not happening silently. Can you please let me know if there are any silent parameters to be given to uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application? I have been dealing with this issue for several days and can't seem to find an answer.

We have purchased several seats for the Creative Cloud. We are attempting to create packages with the CC packager. Neither the MSI nor the Setup. It then shoots across and then rolls back quickly. I have tried to install this with elevated credentials and even under the local administrator account all with the same results. I even contacted Adobe support and had the technician remote into my machine who then proceeded to screw up a whole host of settings - my bad I guess for trusting a 1st level technician.

However, she did get it installed on my computer. I just have to go back and fix everything she broke. Both of these computers as well as the future systems have previous version of the same programs. In an effort to reduce possible issues regarding this, I uninstalled all previous version of InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator.

The only Adobe product that remained is an older version was Acrobat - 9 Pro. These systems are connected to a domain and are runing ESET's endpoint antivirus.
